The Yuri Boomer costs the same as them, and is probably better and more scary.
However, the boomer is sadly very small and looks not threatening.
Now the boomer can inspire some terror due to increased size at least...
Also, it was noted by me that we practically don't have boomer voxels. I found a black boomer recolor, that's about it. What's up with that?
I edited this voxel myself, but no credit required
- Duplicated size
- Removed redundant voxels
- Changed settings so that voxels are smaller and closer together
Add this to [BSUB]:
Code:
Image=BSUB_BIG
Add this to artmd.ini:
Code:
[BSUB_BIG] ;Big Yuri Boomer submarine
Cameo=BSUBICON
Voxel=yes
Remapable=yes
PrimaryFireFLH=295,85,0
SecondaryFireFLH=-110,0,-40
SecondSpawnOffset=-220,0,0
My other idea (unimplemented) was as follows:
Code:
By using HVA cycling such as rolling threads, the voxel image of the submarine can dynamically change as it moves.
These voxel images can have different normals and/or subtle color changes.
This can simulate the refraction and changing diffraction under the waters and seas as the sub advances.
Another, similar way to achieve this is to use the walking rate controls in mech units.
However this requires careful editing and a lot of patience so it looks right, so rather than doing an abomination of changing lighting I'd rather wait for someone else to do it properly...
