The most of the remaining colonies defended by Z.O.I.D. are only vast piles of stacked containers. Freepace is rare, everything is cramped together. Sterile air, synthetic food aund the newest generations of habitants have never and most probably will never see a real unmutated tree or a living animal. More than 70 percent of the known unmutated survivors lives in those colonies and the morale is dropping. On the other side there are two gigantic bio-dome like colony complexes. Several miles in diameter and protected by sonic and vibration-defence perimeters. Only the 'high-society' lives there, with real trees, fresh air and only a small population in relation to the size of the colonies. Z.O.I.D. is responsible for the security of ALL settlements. But it is a fact that over 93% of the soldiers who fight in the Z.O.I.D. forces are from the 'inferior' colonies. So the leaders of the richer colonies had worrys, that if things went really bad, the Z.O.I.D. forces are maybe not very motivated to fight or die for the 'superior' colonies. After years of debates the superior colonies decided to found their own small military-force the CDF. With about a thousend soldiers per colony, the Colonial Defence Forces is only a small but well equipped organisation. The soldiers are trained for defence operations, the fleet of vehicles consists of some scout-cars, light, heavy and hover tanks. The CDF vehicles are not designed to fight in the zone. All CDF troops will only be used between the defence perimeters and the colony itself.
The CDF is most probably not a playable faction, maybe it makes a small appearance in a campaign or a custom map.
CDF-T16 Cat
--No background story for the Cat at the moment, the Cat will be most probably the first CDF vehicle (hence the name), but at the moment I use it as a medium-tank placeholder for Z.O.I.D. Maybe it will even stick with Z.O.I.D. or it will be removed completely from the game.--
Class: Medium Tank
Cost: 1700
Weapons: Double 90mm cannon, AA rocket laucher.
Strengths: Good vs vehicles and buildings, heavy armour.
Weaknesses: Expensive, useless vs infantry.
Meowww~ Looks really nice. Furrrr- ahem. I like the twin-barreled design, though wouldn't it cause collateral damage...a lot? _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
Colonial Attack Tank?
I'd like to see a bigger image of the 3d render...
No Colonial Defence Force Tank 16 - 'Cat', cat that small furry mammal, that everyone besides me seems to like.^^
The name Cat was given by the concept author, Gabor.
I have added a render to the media thread.

Those a two very accurate weapons, the Cat also has an advanced aiming computer. The system refuses to fire on friendly targets and buildings. Every CDF/Z.O.I.D. vehicle/building sends a own transponder singnal which helps the computer to identify friendly targets. On the other side, if something has really broken through the two large defence perimeters of a colony, collateral damage will be the last thing to care about. _________________ Tiberian Fall The Art Of Tiberian Fall QUICK_EDIT

Still Alive
Hello,
it has been a long time since my last update. But yea I am still alive, and the Tiberian Fall project continues. So what happened to me? Some health issues and recurring computer problems prevented from working on TF and after a while I even lost the interest in it. But now I am back on the tracks and I have some new buildings and units to show. Here we go:
Lightning Conductor
Lightning conductors are large, tower-like devises, usually placed near other Z.O.I.D. buildings. The size and the used materials make them very attractive to lightning bolts. Every placed conductor reduces the probability that other buildings will get hit by lightning. The rotating head produces a small amounts of electrostatic energy, which can be collected. The conductors can be very dangerous for any kind of aircraft. Sometimes, energy bursts arch over between the LC and nearby flying aircrafts.
Type: lightning conductor, energy supply, passive base defence
Cost: 500
Commando Nebelparder
The MMI Nebelparder 2 or Commando Nebelparder is a specialised and well equipped of the versatile Z.O.I.D. APC. It is mostly used as command-vehicle and for commando missions. The "NCOM" is faster and better armored as the regular version, but can hold less passengers.
Type: Elite APC
Cost: 1150
Weapons: 7,65 MM high velocity AI-gun
Strengths: Good vs infantry, fast, will gain a lot of veteran abilities.
Weaknesses: Expensive, can only hold 3 passengers.
No, in a ion storm it really reduces the chance that other buildings will be hit by lightnings. Instead the conductor will be hit. It also produces energy, and if a aircraft flies to close to it in will be zapped. Its a bit like a insect buzzer, with a very short range of course. _________________ Tiberian Fall The Art Of Tiberian Fall QUICK_EDIT

won't it get damaged by the lightening though? _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young QUICK_EDIT

Still Alive Part 2
Quote:
How did you make that?
This is classified.
Pollux Scout Walker
Even if the GDI lost the second tiberium war, the Titan battle mech was an outstanding fighting machine and the backbone of the GDI tank division. In the end of the war, the Titan production facility was completely destroyed and the production company ceased to exist.
After the war, Z.O.I.D. was founded and the few remaining tank devisions were refilled with easy to produce tanks like the Prowler (I was first, EA! ). After 6 Years, the Z.O.I.D command's interest in a new Walker grow stronger. But which of the remaining companies could develop such a machine? The command refuses to give MMI the commission after they had sold wheeled vehicles to third parties.
They gave the commission to the Sulai Mechatronics Corp. which had settled near Nova Providence the biggest of the last colonies.
Z.O.I.D. had send one of the last Titans to SMC, for reverse engineering.
The project led over several prototypes to the first new regular battle mech called Mars and later to several other walker series.
On of newest ones it the Pollux, a fast and agile scout walker. The Pollux is a perfect reconnaissance unit, equipped with a 20mm cannon and excellent vision and sensor-systems. The vehicle is often used as courier between the settlements.
Type: Scout
Cost: 450
Weapons: 20MM cannon
Strengths: Good vs infantry and light vehicles.
Weaknesses: Weak armor
NOD Series 4 Battle Buggy
The series 4 buggy was actually produced by MMI, it was originally designed as light combat vehicle for the Z.O.I.D. forces. But they had no interest in it. the management decided to sell the vehicle to third parties, without the knowledge of the colonial government or the Z.O.I.D. command. Of course the brotherhood, which has lost almost all its production facilities as well, used this possibility to buy carefully as much buggies as possible. Everything was handled over middlemen.
The brotherhood reverse engineered the vehicle, copied the chassis, the drivetrain and fitted their own weapon systems and electronics inside.
After a while they where complete capable of building their own buggies.
The modern Nod buggy has still the original chassis and the special suspension MMI is known for. But the engine and inside is something completely different, the vehicle is fueled with tiberium but not in the way as Z.O.I.D. units. The interior has no steering wheel or pedals, the driver will be connected to the vehicle in some way.

Also, welcome back ZoidZilla, I'm a big fan of your work so don't plan on running off any time soon.
Thank you.

Its a really simple code, but it works well. And without the conductors you will lost a lot of your sentry-guns in a Ion Storm. _________________ Tiberian Fall The Art Of Tiberian Fall QUICK_EDIT
Those are made of win, I especially love the Nod buggy, great to see such an old thing back in action _________________ Please, I DON'T read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
Play around with an armor which you probably won't use and have it take zero damage from it or something? _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
No, something completely different.
I bet no one will guess the real purpose of this unit. _________________ Tiberian Fall The Art Of Tiberian Fall QUICK_EDIT

Re: Still Alive Part 2
Finally, new unit.
Web Spider
The Web Spider (sometimes also called Web widow), is a heavy 'area denial' unit developed by the Brotherhood of Nod. There is no time in the mobile and aggressive fighting style of the brotherhood for the construction of heavy concrete walls. Those walls must also be abandoned, every time Nod changes its position. The Web Spiders can always come along with the troops and establish an effective laser-perimeter if needed. Once, two Web Spiders are deployed and linked together, a cloaking field will be enabled, which hides the Web and the Spider itself. The unit also has a web launcher that can be used to bind infantry. Web Spiders are walking energy reactors, literally. You should not mess around with them!
Type: Area denial unit.
Cost: 1000
Weapons: Laser, web launcher.
Strengths: Good vs infantry and light vehicles, underground unit, cloaking device.
Weaknesses: Weak armor, heavy and slow (surface), explosive.
KI Level: 4/10
Deployment:
Sorry for that awful GIF, but my computer crashes every time I try to record a Video in-game, so thats all I've got.
Awesome work! Thats a really cool idea... Mobile bases [stealth generator, WF,...]? Muhahaha... _________________

unforeseen consequences
Hi there.
At the moment I have some massive technical problems with my computer. Therefore, all of my larger model-projects are on hold at the moment. I just can't work with fun if I get a bluescreen every 10 minutes without a warning. I already lost a lot of model-work, even with autosave function of 3ds-max. Maybe I will get a new graphic-card this week and hopefully this solves my problems.
But there are also good news, TF has a new team-member, Vefbl4!
He already provided some nice music for the mod.
Yea the wheels are a bit inspired by the brittish Bren Carrier Those wheels save some wight, its only a simple civilian utility-vehicle and I tried to make it look simple. _________________ Tiberian Fall The Art Of Tiberian Fall QUICK_EDIT
OT-16 Monsoon Transport and OT-16D Typhoon Gunship
The OT-16 is something like the smaller and 'uglier' sister of the Orca Transport. Build in the second tiberium war, the machine was mostly used by civilian organizations and companies as a medium transport. Machines that survived the great cataclysm where later required by the emergency government and used to find survivors in the Zone. But like all other available aircrafts the machines suffered from heavy malfunctions, caused by the high Ionization and a great amount of units where lost. The OT-16 was one of the first aircraft types, that was equipped with the new anti-Ionization systems, but those systems where huge, an the machines lost a lot of their possible payload. On the field some machines where up-armored and equipped with rail-guns and smart missile systems. for a while those gunships where the only armed aircrafts available. OT-16s had a long career in the Z.O.I.D. forces but they became outdated. Today the most of the existing OT-16 are again in civilian service or used by science teams. Only very few OT-16 gunships are still operational.
