The Sides
This mod is based on the red alert universe, so I aim at brining all the participating sides to this mod. Rather than giving each faction "Ra# Allies", I'll give them another name. Here's a break down of them:
The Allies: The allies have appeared in all three games and are pretty much concieved as the good guys. They have European and American Commanders, and thier strategies revolve around speed, esponiage, quick hitting, and special forces based attacks.
-The British: The British are the Allies from Red Alert 1. They have some of the lightest and fastest units in the game (light tank, ranger) but generally the have the weakest (on a one to one scale, I migh make them more cost efficent or something like that). They have a very limited airforce, but they have thing for deception (fake buildings, GAP technology, camo pillboxes).
-The Alliance: The Alliance are the Allies from Red Alert 2. They are more medium based then their predecessors, and have a wider range of units to deploy. Their vehicles have lighter armor then their soviet counterparts, but they have an upper hand when it comes to infantry.
-Blue: (Super original name, huh?) The Blue are the allies from Red Alert 3. They have roughly the same kind of stats as their counter parts in the Alliance, but thier untis generally cost more. But this is only because they access to several secondary abilities; like painting targets to deal more damage. They are especially strong when it comes to their airforce.
The USSR: The USSR has also appeared in all three games and usually take the role of the aggressor. They have all Russian Commanders. They strategy revolves around hard hitting heavy armor units, their tesla tecnology, and slow moving, yet niegh unstoppable advances.
-The Russians: The Russians are the Soviets from Red Alert 1, and they have the simpliest army of the three. They have some of the heaviest units (the mammoth and the heavy tank), and they have a respectable infantry and airforce. However, they lack a rocket infantry and an anti-infantry vehicle, thus they do infact have an achilles heal.
-The Soviets: The Soviets are the Red Alert 2 Soviets. They have a more flexable force than their predecessors; while only taking a small hit on thir armour. Their infantry may not be as effective, and they lack a fighter plane. However thy are still a force to be reckoned with when it comes to their armour.
-The Union: The Union is the Red Alert 3 Soviets. Their units are more expensive but more specialized than the other soviets, and all around they have a very flexible army, but that is only together. Individual units Don't fare well against units that they weren't designed to attack. Their units are also a tad bit mroe expensive, but only because of their secondary abilities.
Yuri: Yuri has only appeared once in the series, but that is not to say he has a powerful force. Led by this mad scientist, Yuri's Army is a motley crew of near carnivel freaks ranging from mind controlling men to giant brutes to flying saucers. The two greatest strengths of his army are his psychic abilities and the gattling cannons he uses to mow down anything he can't control.
The Empire: The Empire made it's first appearance in the latest game, and their strange army of anime based things has proven to be quite effective. Their units can be classified as somethign between light and medium, but their true strength lies in their secondary abilities-which include the ability of some units to transform into totally different types of units. They also have a unique build style-the nanocores-which allow them to expand very quickly (albeit at a slightly higher cost). _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. I was gonna call it the New and Old Alliance, but them I played Team Fortress 2, and was like "thats it!"
When you install ra2, it says something about Britian being the only country to not be conquered by the soviets, so I was like ok, they're britian.
The names are really for me more than anything else because it is how I organize the units and stuff. The Russians have the "Rus" prefix, and then there's the "Sov" "Uni" "Bri" "All" "Jap" etc. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
