Naming Inconsistencies
I played DTA yesterday and during playing, I noticed some structures and units seemingly having names different to what the other factions/icons called when hovered over.
Here are the inconsistencies I noticed so far:
Name - Icon
Chinook - Transport
In enhanced mode, Soviet's barbed wire fence said "Barbed Wire Fence" when hovered over, and Nod's fence said the same, but without the word "Fence".
GDI's APC said "M113 APC" and the Allied one said the same but without "M113". In classic mode however, their tooltips both called them "APC" instead.
Renaming Suggestions
Nod's barbed wire fence can have the same name as the Soviet's.
APC in both modes should be renamed to "Armored Personnel Carrier".
For the Chinook, the name can be Chinook Transport Helicopter or the Chinook's icon can be replaced with the one from Red Alert. Although I'm not sure if the Chinook icons are diffrent depending on the factions, given that I haven't playtested that much...
I'll probably update this thread when I find some more naming inconsistencies. Last edited by Panzermann11 on Thu Mar 14, 2019 10:23 am; edited 10 times in total QUICK_EDIT

C&C's rocket soldiers are called "Bazooka" while the RA ones are named the same as the icon. This is incorrect as bazookas are a type of weapon.
That's a reference to the original C&C1 The weapon was indeed called bazooka in the code, for some reason Westwood mistakenly used it for the icon tooltip. _________________
I probably only ended up using the "Airfield" name because its internal ID is AFLD, but since its name is really Airstrip in TD it would indeed be better to rename it to that in DTA as well.
The Bazooka is as Crimsonum mentioned, while the other the others just have a simplified or more generic name on their icon (often because of space concerns) and only the tooltip will show its more technical name. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
