The Conversion Tank, or XT-41 by SSIA designation, is a heavily armored assault drone capable of engaging almost any target on the ground with either a C-D cannon or a directed energy beam. Interestingly, the name of the Conversion Tank came from the wide misconception that the vehicle converted enemy soldiers into Invader Light Infantry. Using data from Sentry Drones and scattered gear of the "converted", it was found that the Conversion-Displacement weapon did indeed kill the soldiers in the impact area, but also placed a beacon on the exact location of where the soldier's corpse SHOULD of been. Using these beacons, a remote teleportation facility sends a Light Infantry unit to each beacon. All of this occurs during an explosion caused by the death of the soldiers in the detonation area.
The most dangerous weapon on this vehicle, however is widely regarded as its energy beam. While visually, it is a laser, the laser is mere conveyor for an enormous pulse of energy delivered from the vehicle's reactor units. The beam is capable of passing through most materials, which is likely the reason the AI protocols for this vehicle call for it shoot at targets further behind the front-line units. Upon reaching the maximum range for the pulse, the laser feed is cut, and the energy, with no conveyor to direct it, spreads out over a small area. The effect of this is devestating to anything on the ground.
The chassis of the vehicle is of a typical Invader design, but with a quad-track-hoverjet mover system that affords extra stability for the increased weight of the tank's reactor, processor and internal units.
Notes:
The XT-41's speed is nothing an Invader commander would brag about, if they were capable of doing such a thing. While faster than many human tanks of the same size, it lags behind in the rapid-moving Invader armor-divisions.
The XT-41 weapon system is designed not to damage units under its commander's control, or its commander's allies. Due to an advanced projection unit, the minimum range and recharge rate for both weapons are small.
The XT-41's armor is believed to very human like, as in it is thick on the front, thin in the rear, top and bottom. It is made of an advanced composite metal which has yet to be identified.
The complexity of the XT-41's internals and weapon system make Invader protocol limit their deployment to two a commander.
The Conversion Tank replaces the Nuclear Tank.
