Tiberium Value Edits

Hey all,
So, using the SDK, I've increased the value of tiberium, made the capacity of the fields big enough to cope with the new load, and made my silos and refineries able to hold near infinite loads of the green stuff.
One thing I can't work out is the numbox line in the field code.
Initially, it's set to 50, with a value per crystal at 7. As you all know, a harvester holds 2400units, and this I'm fine with.
What confuses me is the exact relation between value and numboxes. If I leave it at fifty, I end up with a single tiberium crystal per field. There seems to be little change until you reach the thousands, when the field becomes properly populated. However, the crystals seem to disappear even faster than when they had their original value (I've messed with the regrowth and such scales in the object code too, but to no avail.)
