I want to play the campaign the way I remember it, and with only digital copies at hand I don't have v1.0 available. So I decided to make a mod returning the game to its original balance.
I put it together in an afternoon, so there are still some issues that need working out, but it's mostly there.
I hope someone with a little more knowledge of C&C modding, and/or access to the 1.0 XML files can help me with a few remaining questions and fixes:
-v1.09 changed the economy by reducing the amount harvesters carry and speeding up the gathering cycle. But I'm not sure exactly what values were changed to speed up gathering, as there seem to be a few possible modifiers.
-There's mention that MCV health and speed were normalized across factions, but what are the original values?
-v1.05 patch notes mention reducing rifle soldier dig in cost/time, but doesn't mention the original values or how much it was changed
-Restealth times of some units were changed, but I haven't found where they can be changed back
-And a few weapons, like flamethrowers have multiple damage values, so I'm not sure which one or if all were changed with the damage changes listed in patch notes
So the original XML files would help tremendously with getting that all sorted if anyone has access to them!
I've attached the mod as it is so far. It's already much more playable in the campaign, and I hope with the rest of the changes it will be good as new again.
