Hologram art style masks for everyone!
Subject description: for 3dsmax 2015
This is the scene used to make the hologram abberation and battlecruiser here
It is a done set with lights and cameras. I used a plane as the mask.
Just put anything you want to be transparent behind the mask and render. You should use a blue background or adjust the plane's material according to your own background color.
Due to the uvw settings, camera/output size/mask size cannot be changed. If you want to change any of these, you must adjust the uvw modifier on the plane. Mainly resize it, by 100.01 per time until it works fine, quite a pain. If you know anything that can keep it working without extra adjustments, please share.
Can be used on anything you want it transparent, including buildup anims, building anims, etc.
You can render the parts without transparency using a normal scene, and then render the transparent parts with them. Use Image Shaper by LKO to combine two sequences into one SHP file. Praise him for this great tool!

When you want the complete model done this way, you can use the mask PNG directly with image shaper to remove every second pixel.
The "combine transparent pixel" allows you to remove from the frame every pixel that is transparent on the mask. Or in other words, it ignores colored pixel on the mask and draws only the transparent pixel onto the frame.
Just put in ImageList1 your frames and in ImageList2 you add to each image that mask PNG with "combine transparent pixel" checked on them.

Yes, I can simply add a mask in image shaper. It is really easy and fast, only that I have to make a few hundreds of copies of the mask.
Would save lots of work on this if I already have the frames rendered. Can instantly make a hologram version of anything.
If I am to render something new, the max masks can still have a use.
Din't use combine transparent pixels cause can't make out how it works......used a red-blue check pattern and forced image shaper to convert blue to 0, red to 255, and removed all 255 in shp builder, achieved the same effect.
Hmmmmm......you can first make the transparent part with normal renders+ a mask in image shaper and export all its frames in SHP builder, then combine the transparent frames with the normal parts in image shaper!
All you need is a check pattern mask now.

export all frames, combine with a mask in image shaper, get transparent conscripts
